Introduction

Is it possible to create a Mac OS X Widget, Tiger widget or other type of client for the service http://www.ordbogen.com?

Status

Contacted ordbogen.com, and they returned with a friendly, but positive answer. Stating that the request had been forwarded to their developers. --Kim Bach 14:58, 12 June 2006 (CEST)

Analysis

ordbogen.com currently offers a Windows and a web client. A simple search Widget has been developed. This widget simply calls the search script on the website as a result of a keypress.

The catch...You need to login to the service from the webpage, since it's probably cookie based, you'll only need to do this rarely, but this is unclear at this point.

Possible solutions:

• Porting of the Windows client (we'll need the source code)
• Reverse engineering
• "Login client" that can be automated
